SANTA FE SOCK: FILTER SOCK CAN EFFECTIVELY REPLACE SILT FENCE
The newest evolution in storm water pollution prevention control, this tube-shaped
device is a sleeve filled with composted matter or mulch. Using a variety
sizes and “fill” filter socks can be adapted to site specific
needs. Developed by ECSS, Inc., this filter sock is locally produced, environmentally
friendly, reusable,* and eligible for LEED points.
Less expensive than silt fencing, filter sock controls sediment, filters
heavy metals, petroleum products and other pollutants. It is durable enough
to withstand prolonged UV exposure and even occasional drive-over* by equipment.
